Tracing worksheets by theme主题汉字描红

Twelve characters per theme: numbers, family, animals, colours, food, body, school, nature, actions, time and Chinese New Year. Each 11-page kit has 3 tracing pages, 2 write-it-yourself pages, a matching game, a circle-the-right-one quiz, a Dak Duck colouring page, a certificate and an answer key. The first 10 themes also come as one bundle (120 characters, 104 pages).

Every sound of Hanyu Pinyin on a card a small child can hold: 23 initials, 24 finals and 16 whole syllables, 63 in all. The pictures show the made-up sample name 王小明. Because each kit is made for one name, it cannot be returned for a change of mind once delivered; a typo, a missing tone mark or a character that does not display properly is corrected and resent free of charge.

How ordering works怎么订

  1. In the Personalisation box on Etsy, type the child's Chinese name exactly as it should be printed. It is printed as typed, never converted between simplified and traditional. You can add the pinyin and an English name too.
  2. Not sure about the pinyin? Leave it out. The shop adds the standard reading with tone marks, and may message you through Etsy to check the pinyin if a character has more than one common reading.
  3. The shop makes the kit for that name and uploads the A4 and US Letter PDFs to your Etsy order within 2 business days. Etsy emails you when they are ready.
  4. Download, print, and let your child trace their own name.

A few tips that work for every set. Each listing and each file also has its own print tips.

  1. DownloadOpen etsy.com in a web browser (a computer, or Safari/Chrome on your phone; downloads don't work inside the Etsy app). Sign in with the same account you ordered with, click your profile picture at the top right, choose Purchases and reviews, find the order and click Download files. You can also use the Download files button in Etsy's order email.
  2. Match your paperA4 paper: use the A4 file. US Letter (8.5 × 11 in): use the US Letter file.
  3. Print at 100%Choose “Actual size” or 100%, not “Fit to page”, so the 田字格 boxes and the 9 × 6 cm cards keep their size. Colouring pages work either way.
  4. Black-and-white is fineEvery set prints well without colour. Plain paper works; 100–120 gsm is nicer for pencils and markers, and card (160–200 gsm) for flashcards and posters.
  5. Cards: test one sheetQuiz cards print double-sided (“flip on long edge”). Try one sheet first, then cut along the dashed lines. Grown-ups handle the scissors.
  6. Make it last (optional)Laminate posters or flashcards so they wipe clean. Print a fresh worksheet whenever your child wants another go.

Because the files are digital, Etsy orders are delivered by download and nothing is shipped. What happens if a file is faulty or not as described is explained on Refunds & delivery. For a question about an order, message the shop through Etsy Messages on that order.
